The renovation of Strata Decision Technology’s office on the 49th floor of the Aon Center and expansion to the 50th floor included formal and informal gathering spaces to encourage staff interaction, and branded elements throughout, linking the spaces.

In order to connect the two floors, Eastlake Studios designed a bold staircase that became a central artery for the office. With a limited percentage of dollars allocated to this part of the remodel, the team held a meeting, including the architects, structural engineers, multiple subcontractors, and steel manufacturer, to carefully consider the design requirements from all angles. This collaboration resulted in a successfully completed staircase, including MEP rework, structural steel modification and ornamental metals, 15 percent under budget.
