Behind the Scenes of Motorola's Customer Experience Center Buildout
Motorola’s highly branded, immersive Customer Experience Center (CXC) was completed in a nearly impossible 7 weeks from award. Typically, a project of this size and complexity would require 12 weeks to construct. Motorola challenged the project team to meet the schedule in order to have their CXC in operation for an important sales meeting.
One of the project’s components, electrified glass, has a long lead time for fabrication. Given the project’s extremely short construction schedule, the project team knew from the beginning that the glass would not be in before their seven weeks were up. BIG suggested a custom channel detail meaning we could repurpose stored glass temporarily to deliver a beautiful space for Motorola on time, with flexibility to install the specialized glass when it came in. The solution resulted in a 70% savings over fabricating a custom temporary glass and Motorola was able to show off the strength of their brand in the space as desired for their meeting.
